My journey into health and nutrition began in 1999 with a single book.
I read The Optimum Nutrition Bible by Patrick Holford, and it completely changed the way I viewed nutrition. For the first time, I realised that food isn’t just about calories; it has the power to influence our health, energy, performance, recovery, and overall quality of life. That moment sparked a passion that would shape the course of my career.
Later that year, I completed my diploma in Personal Fitness Training and Nutrition through the Exercise Teachers Academy (ETA) in Stellenbosch. Since 2000, I’ve dedicated my career to helping people build stronger, leaner, healthier bodies through evidence-based training and nutrition.
Over the past 25 years, I’ve coached everyone from complete beginners looking to lose weight and regain their confidence to competitive bodybuilders preparing for the stage. Throughout my career, I’ve continued to expand my knowledge as a Sports Nutritionist, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor, and PCA-qualified Bodybuilding Judge, where I’ve spent more than a decade judging physiques at the highest level of competition.
Evolving with the Science
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that there is no universal blueprint for success.
Nutrition science has evolved enormously since I first began studying it in 1999, and it continues to evolve as new research emerges. As a bodybuilding coach, I believe it’s essential to keep learning, question outdated ideas, and base coaching decisions on the best available scientific evidence. My methods have evolved with the science because my goal has always been the same: to help clients achieve the best possible results safely, effectively, and sustainably.

My goal is to educate, motivate, and support you throughout your journey so that you understand why you’re doing what you’re doing, not just what to do.
